Twenty Years From Now

Mark Twain once wrote; “Twenty Years from now you will be more disappointed by the things You didn’t do than by the ones you did do.”

Twenty years seem like such a long time, until it passes and you realize all those things you were going to accomplish have somehow gone unfinished. Life has a way of distracting our dreams and desires of our youth and sometimes, too often, keeps us in a situation that we really did not want. We get comfortable with our day to day life and just live in the now instead of our dreams, letting life keep us in the box. Twenty Years from now, where will you be?

This “comfort zone” that we all hear so much about is the daily struggle to pay bills, take care of our family and just get by in life and we have All been there. Sometimes it’s easier to just go with what you know instead of breaking out and taking another path, a path less traveled but a journey to a better life. Only by taking risk and learning different skill sets do we change the direction we are headed and move forward toward a more fulfilling life. Another Great quote is; “Never give up on a dream because of the time it will take to accomplish it, the time will pass anyway.” ~Earl Nightingale.

So, Twenty Years from now, what are you going to be doing and where will you be in your journey called life? This time is going to go by way quicker than you think and twenty years from now you will look back and say, Wow that was great or darn I should have done something different. It’s Your story and you are writing it day by day, you are the author, creator and You control this story of you. What do you want your story to be about? Will it be about drama and all the negative situations that made up the last twenty years or will this story be about adventure and fun times with positive people all around with memories that will last a lifetime?

You can’t change the direction of the wind but you Can change the set of the sail. Are you steering the ship or just drifting in the wind? You have the very unique ability to learn new skills and change your thinking to adjust the direction of life if you just re-set the sail. There is So Much More you can accomplish if you just decide what you want, determine what it will take to get there and just make a plan to GO, no excuses accepted. If it’s new skills you need then find the training and learn the gig, do the work and reap the reward. Maybe it’s the “friends” you have or the ones you hang around with that keep you where you are. Or maybe it’s all in your head? Yeah I know, sometimes that’s the only place it needs to be to affect your daily habits. What ever it is that is holding you back is of your own making and only You can make the change.

Twenty Years from now don’t be disappointed by what you didn’t do just because you let it slip by. Fear is just False Emotions Appearing Real and it steals more peoples dreams than anything in life. You can lean a new skill and put a plan into action that will make a difference Twenty Years from now. You are more powerful than you think and you are more capable than you know but only You can keep your dreams alive. Only You have the power to move your life in a direction that You want it to go. Only You have control over the next Twenty Years.

There are SO many things I wished I had done in the last Twenty Years and so many things I want to do in the next Twenty Years. Twenty Years from now I will be 73 and that is Amazing to say the least. The next Twenty Years are more important than the last because I have control over them where the last twenty are only a memory now. Oh, what I should have done and didn’t are just part of what I did do that makes us who we are and describes the value we bring to our life’s existence. Twenty Years From NOW, how Exciting is that?

The Bureau of Labor Statistics show that 9 million workers took a vacation in 1976 but only 7 million workers took a vacation in 2014. This survey found that most workers leave as much as 9.2 days of vacation unused and not taken advantage of here in America. Although some companies are encouraging a better balance between work, life and happiness many workers find it too stressful to take off like they should. Most U.S, workers have access to vacation time and it should be used for better health and wellbeing. Vacations are really good for you!

Better Health: It has been proven that taking time off from the day to day grind reduces stress which leads to less risk of heart disease of heart attacks. Vacations can get you out of the rat race and give you time to unwind mentally and physically, leading to less stress and better health.

This time spent enjoying family memories and adventures together become some of the most cherished family memories shared for many years to come. Traffic, How and Where to Get It

There seems to be this magical, mystical ingredient that is keeping SO many people from achieving success. Anyone that is trying to get their opportunity or content is Always searching for it and everyone thinks it’s the magic ingredient they are missing, Well, they just might be right.

Traffic is King when it comes to getting your message out there. Everyone wants it and Needs it but many struggle to find it. Traffic can be the one ingredient that gets you business or keeps you from seeing the results you are truly after. Traffic, what is it anyway? Traffic is often referred to as having unique or repeat visitors to your site, blog or offering via capture pages or however you are trying to get your message out.

There are basically three types of traffic. The first is Paid Traffic or Traffic you control and can be very effective if you know how to do it and where to get it. The second is Traffic you do Not control or traffic that is organic or free. This type of traffic usually takes more time and effort but it doesn’t cost you to much to get and it’s great when your content or media delivers it to you. Don’t worry, we are going to break this down a bit as we go. The last is the Traffic that you Own and this is usually from your list. I know you have heard “The Money is in the List” and that is certainly correct. When you have spent the time and effort to create a list then you can take your offers, products or just content to your list and you get Instant traffic. So let’s break it down a bit.

Paid Traffic or traffic you control is just that. You create your offer be it capture page, video offering, blog post or what ever you are trying to get people to and you purchase visitors to your offer. The most important part of paid traffic is having a compelling offer that converts. You have to be able to grab someones attention quickly and make them Want To open your offering. We do this with email marketing, driving traffic to our blog post or driving them to a clever capture page to get them to opt into our mailing list or review our sales material. Paid traffic is very effective if done right and it can include PPC (pay per click) it can be solo ads (rent someones list) or now even Facebook advertising is very popular. The type of offer you are presenting often determines the type of paid traffic you go after. The Great thing about paid traffic is it can be “scaled” up or down. If your offer is converting and you are getting a good ROI (return on investment) from your ad or content then you can scale up to increase the amount of eyeballs that are viewing your offer. You can test different approaches and determine where you should drive more traffic or where to stop. Paid Traffic is Fantastic if done Right!

Organic Traffic is traffic you don’t really control but you get because of the work you have put into your content and blogs and such. If you are going to have a blog, which we HIGHLY recommend, then you can always insert specific keywords and SEO (search engine optimization) to bring you organic type traffic. Any site or blog that you create and post content to can have certain keywords that will be picked up by different search engines that will key on your content when people do searches in their favorite search engine. This takes some effort to create but once it is done it is Always there and you can get good, specific traffic from this effort. Blogs are one of the best ways to generate organic traffic because the search engines pick up on blog content really well, takes some effort up front but can pay dividends for years to come. This is why we call it Traffic you don’t control, it’s just brought to you from efforts you put into branding your self or your team. Everyone should be doing this if they are at all serious about being a Top Income Earner in Network Marketing.

The last but Not least of these Traffic methods is traffic you Own! One of the most productive activities that you can undertake is the creation of your list. Once you build your list from people that have opted into your blog, capture page or simple capture form, then you can return to this list to present new offerings when ever you have them or just to keep your team informed on what is happening and relevant to your efforts. This is truly Traffic you own because you own your list. Whenever you post a new blog then create an email about your blog post and take it to your list, Instant Traffic! Have a new product to offer, take it to your list and Instant Traffic and instant sales. Your list becomes one of the biggest key ingredients to your traffic because you can create traffic any time you want it by just going to your list. “The Money is in the List!” Especially when it comes to traffic. If you have built your list then it cost you nothing to generate Instant Traffic to any offering you want to promote.

So the next time you are sitting there thinking “man if I just had some traffic?” you will know exactly how to get it. You can really get traffic anytime you want it you just need to make sure that what you are driving the traffic to is powerful and converts. All the traffic in the world will not make you money unless you have compelling content that converts visitors into prospects and prospects into SALES! Take the time to put together good content via your blog or website or what ever your media choice and then drive some traffic to it, test it and scale accordingly. Traffic is King!

Time to get Real Folks

There is a Great disservice going on in marketing today. You see it All over the internet and spewed by all the self proclaimed guru marketers. I mean it is Truly Everywhere. I know you have heard it too. “Just join my team and you can make Big Money and you don’t have to talk to anyone!” What a crock!

You see people it’s Time to Get REAL Folks! I know they say you never have to talk to anyone, just “automate” your business and you can hit the big time, oh and pay me $997 and I will teach you how.” And what’s worse is people are falling for it left and right. Network Marketing is a business, we have products and we have customers and we have team members. If you are not willing to communicate with people and talk to prospects then you have Very little chance of making it in this business.

Can you imagine telling your children; “Hey little Johnny, to Succeed in life you don’t have to talk with anyone or learn any new life skills just follow my B.S. course and you will go far in life.” Not going to happen. We have to develop communication skills and teach our self new skills all the time. If you are not learning you are not growing. Our society has gotten so used to being entertained all the time and just vegetating in front of the dream stealer called TV hiding out in their house and hiding behind their computer. People, you got to get Out of your comfort zone and talk to people, it’s called “Networking” for a reason.

We know that many people are uncomfortable talking with new people and not sure what to say in some situations but that is NO Excuse not to learn. This thing called the “comfort zone” is holding most people back from Greatness. I know that most people are very comfortable talking about what they do for a living because that is where they know the most about the subject of their work. Ask me about my job and what I do and you can spit that conversation out No Prob. This is only because you are most informed and comfortable talking about a subject you know most about. So, learn about your biz opp company and how it works and what it does so that you can be comfortable talking about that as well. Know your products and how the comp plan works, study the reasons that your opportunity is great and why you joined in the first place, then you can talk with others about it and be comfortable in the conversation.

There is NO Easy button when it comes to Success. I tell people all the time; “If it was Easy then everyone would be doing it and there would be no money to it”. And it’s not that it’s hard, but it does take some study and some effort (work) to become a Great Network Marketer. If you think you are just going to join a program and sit and make the Big Bucks, you are sadly mistaken and will meet with much frustration and quit, there you go right back to that J.O.B. that you hate so much. They call it a J.O.B. because it stands for Just Over Broke!

Stop falling for all the sales pitch that tells you “if you only buy my course, You can make it big!” Stop looking for the easy button and learn something and get to work. Network Marketing has the potential to make you more money in a month then most people make in a year. It can bring about a lifestyle that most only dream of if you do it right. Yes, you are going to have to learn new life skills. Yes, you are going to have to talk to people. Yes, you Are going to have to get off your butt and DO IT or you are just wasting your time. The people I personally know that make 5 and 6 figure months are Action Takers! They don’t spend their time in front of the TV eating cheetos and twinkies watching the latest Kardashian crap. They constantly learn new ways to increase their teams and business volume to create more income. They talk with people on their team and new prospects everyday building an Empire that will last a lifetime. They “Commit, Educate and ACT” everyday because that is what it takes.

If you are looking for the Easy way out, then you are in the wrong place. BUT, if you are teachable and willing to learn new skills that can build an organization of like-minded people that are all heading in the same direction as you, then you too can have the Massive Success with Network Marketing. Success In 3 Simple Steps

We are often asked about the Easiest way to Succeed in this business. And that is a loaded question because there are so many aspects to Networking but there are Three Simple Steps that can use to drastically improve your results in your Networking career. If you just focus on these you will see a great improvement in your results.

The first step is to Improve Your Skills. You should always be studying ways to improve your skill set and increase your results. This can be done in many different ways such as watching videos, reading self help books and learning from your mentor. The challenge here is to not get distracted in what you are doing. You need to learn and improve but you still have to take action. We see too many people spend all their time trying to learn to be perfect before they actually do something and that is a business killer. Take Action and then improve on your skills involved in your actions. Don’t wait till you are perfect to get started or you will never get started. There is an old saying that goes; You don’t have to be perfect to get going BUT you have to get going to be perfect. Take Action and improving on what you are doing is a Great step in the right direction.

The second step is to Get Over Your Fears! The number one killer to most people’s dreams is the fear factor. They are afraid of what others will think, or they are afraid of talking to someone and so on. Fear is your worst enemy. We tell our team all the time that this fear is in your own mind and you can conquer your fears by doing what scares you most. Just do it! Sometimes it’s a fear of failure that keeps people from reaching their dreams but if you haven’t failed then you have not even tried. It doesn’t matter how many times you get knocked down, it only matters how many times you get back up! F.E.A.R stands for False Emotions Appearing Real. We all have our own fears and we must face fear head on and just try anyway. Often you can kick fear to the curb by just trying a new action and you soon realize it was no big deal at all. Don’t let fear steal your Dreams!

The third Simple Step is Never Quit! We all get beat up sometimes and face many challenges along the way. Sometimes it seems as though we are just never going to reach that Big goal so people just quit. We tell everyone that; “If it was Easy then everyone would do it and there would be no reward for getting it done”. If you want Massive Success then you have to make up your mind that you are going to keep moving forward, No Matter what. Sometimes you are SO close to your success, you’ve been working hard and pushing forward but just not quite where you wanted to be so people quit. That is usually about the time you are going to have a big breakthrough and gain momentum in your journey. If you quit then all your efforts are in vain and you will never get where you want to be in your business or your life. Yes you will go through the ups and downs of building your business but you have to keep moving forward to achieve Success. Do you remember the name of that guy that quit? Yeah me neither! Yeah me too, I can name many of them and they are only there because they kept moving when all they wanted to do is quit. Quitters Never Win and Winners Never Quit! How to Stay Motivated

Whenever we first get started on a new project it is much easier to be motivated and doing something. But as time goes by and we continue to move forward it’s much harder to stay motivated to do the things we Must do to achieve our goal that we started with.

Feeling defeated will Never lead to Success and it can kill a dream quickly. So here are a few steps to help you Stay Motivated and moving forward along your personal journey.

*Take One Day at a Time. Don’t spend too much time worrying about tomorrow when you can Live in today. Do the things today that need to be done and be Grateful for Today. Live one day at a time and make it your Masterpiece!

*Surround Yourself with Positivity! Be Positive about what you are doing and surround yourself with people and situations that support you. Don’t let negative people bring you down and rain on your parade. It is so easy these days to find Positive teachings and videos on the internet. If you spend more time feeding your mind with Positive thoughts, you will see more Positive influence in your overall life.

*Create a Vision board. Sometimes we need to have a visual to remind us Why we started in the first place. A vision board is a great way to keep your dreams and goals right in front of your eyes. Reflect on this vision board often and make it as detailed as possible and this will help to keep you focused on moving forward each day!

*Make S.M.A.R.T. Goals. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-bound. So be Specific about what you really want. Make sure your goals are Measurable so you know how it’s going. Also make sure this goal is Attainable in the real world, don’t wish to be a millionaire by tomorrow but you can work toward being a Millionaire. Make sure your goals are Relevant to what you want to accomplish. Then put a time frame on when you want to reach each specific goal. If you do not make that date it’s not the end of the world, just re-evaluate and move forward.

*Reward Yourself. Make sure to reward yourself when you reach a specific goal or point in your journey. There is no sweeter reward then crossing off the task at hand, Reward Yourself for your Victories!

*Believe in Yourself. There is an old saying; “If You Believe in Yourself, Anything is Possible!” Another one goes; “If you believe you can Or you believe you can’t, You are right!” You have to believe that you are capable of doing the things that are going to get you where you want to go. Your belief is going to make ALL the difference.

*Recognize your Progress. It will take Progress to keep moving forward toward your desire. Don’t confuse motion with progress, a rocking horse has motion but does not make progress. Progress means you Are moving Forward toward your goals. Make sure you are making Progress and not just making excuses.

*Visualize Accomplishing Your Goals. See yourself as you want to be when you have reached your desired goal. Make sure you visualize what You really want and not what others want of you. Visualize the things you want, see it, believe it and then take Action to create it. Visualize to Actualize!

*Be Kind to Yourself and Don’t Compare Yourself to others. Stand guard over your thoughts and make sure you are speaking to Yourself as you would to someone you love. Be careful how you are speaking to yourself because you are listening. Don’t let yourself fall into the trap of comparing your success to someone else. It is Your journey and not theirs. We each have different skill sets and great attributes and abilities and thus we are each very different. Be Yourself and don’t be too hard on yourself, there are plenty of people willing to do that for you. Be Proud even if you are making a few mistakes along the way because it means that You are trying. Be the Best You can be and rejoice in it.

*Be GRATEFUL. And last but not least, Be Grateful for what you already have. Too often we spend time upset about what we do not have instead of being Grateful for what we do have. Take time to evaluate all the good things you have Today. Being Grateful is the Greatest form of Happiness. We may not have everything we want but we Always have things to be Grateful for. Live Simply, Dream Big, Be Grateful, Give Love and Laugh Lots! That’s the secret to life right there.

These are just a few things that can help keep you motivated and moving forward. You have to motivate yourself as well as surround yourself with others that have the same mindset and goals. It starts with you and only you can get you where you want to go. Others can help, or hurt, but the real difference will come from within YOU!

So You’re New to Network Marketing

Deciding to become a Network Marketer is a Big decision. You took your time and did your research and decided to take the plunge, jump in feet first and become a Networker. You are going to Rock this “thing” and change your current lifestyle and financial situation. Great Move!

Now what? Now is the time to commit to your new mission and here are a few things you Really need to lock in your mind. These are some cold hard facts about Network Marketing that will determine if you will make the first 90 days, first 6 months or even your first year in Network Marketing.

First you MUST remember why you started in the first place. What was it that made you step off into this new endeavor? What is your “Why” that is going to keep you going on the bad days when you just want to quit? This needs to be right in front of you Every day to remind you why you started and what is the reward for keeping on and staying the course. You need to be very specific about your “Why” so that you know Exactly what it is that you wanted to accomplish. Make a vision board or post some pictures, write it down and carry it in your pocket or whatever you need to do to keep this front and center so it keeps moving you in the right direction.

You have to know that Network Marketing is a “Long term” commitment. This isn’t something you can “try” and see if it works for you. It works for those who put in the effort and stay to the course. Network Marketing is built for “Residual Income” and you have to have a long term commitment so you stay on course and continue to move forward. Why Texas?

So, we have been asked by several people recently “Why Texas”?

“How can you ever expect to have a successful Network Marketing business if you just focus on Texas?” So many people are taught that you need to be “Global”, you need to be everywhere with your marketing efforts and market to anyone and everyone that will listen. And that is fine if you want to just be on the computer and tied to your internet connection like an umbilical cord. Plus the attrition rate of this style marketing is over the top with people that join and drop out a month later because they didn’t make it in the first 30 days. It’s a mess.

So, Why Texas? Having been in network marketing for many years we have learned that Network Marketing is a relationship business, a people business and requires a certain amount of face to face interaction to build the relationship and trust so people stay with you and stay focused on what we are trying to achieve. We believe that too often people want to just hide behind their computers and mass market to people they have never met, signing up lots but struggling to keep any on board. The attention span on the internet is way too short. Too many marketers just sign people up and throw them to the wolves and hope they make it.

The Lighthouse vs Tug Boat Parable

A Lighthouse can help save boats.
A Tug Boat can help save boats.

But both do so in a Dramatically different way!

The Tug Boat works feverishly to push and pull, hook and drag, always striving to help, or save a boat in need. In the process it works itself ragged trying to get itself and another safely to shore. Always working hard, 24 hours a day and always someone else to save.

The Lighthouse stands tall and steady shining its light for all to see. It does not boast or yell about its glory, it just Shines a beaming ray of light to show others the way. There is no pushing or pulling, no need to drag anyone ashore, it just Shines so others can find their way. Lighthouses don’t go running all over an island looking for boats to save; they just stand there Shining the way.

The Tug boat reminds me of the desperate Networker that is always pushing or tugging trying to get anyone and everyone to view their opportunity. They use hype and falsehood to promote hoping someone, anyone will just climb in the boat with them. Yelling about how great they and their opportunity are and yet they can not figure out why they just can’t seem to get traction.

The Lighthouse just stands tall, showing the way knowing that so many are looking for the light. They do not have to yell or run around boasting about their one and only opportunity, they just Shine. They keep the hope going and show people the way to Success. They are steadfast in their work and don’t let the opinion of others decide their fate, They just Shine!

There is a Simple way for you to find Success if that is what you are truly looking for. You don’t have to become a cheesy salesman, always yelling about your opportunity. Find the right Lighthouse and follow the path. You need someone that has the right opportunity, the tools and training to get you started, and most importantly the support to keep you going when you get lost in the fog. Then you can stand proud knowing that there are others looking for Your light as well. Position yourself as the Lighthouse and you won’t have to work like the Tugboat.

Time is Not Your Friend

There are very few things we have in life that are more precious than time. Time, I’m told, changes Everyone and Everything. We’re all born with all the Time in the World, or so it seems in your youth, then Time just passes by. Like a slow moving wind it just slips away until you realize that, Time is Not Your Friend.

Time has a wonderful way of showing us what Really matters. The very things we thought were so important as a young man and woman tend to change over time. We chase the job, the next big promotion, the new car and status and all those things we thought were so important and were going to make us so happy and yet it just made you want more. Next time, Sometime, Another time, what does it matter, we got plenty of Time.

But then one day you realize that Today needs to be “that day” and Now is definitely the time. The wake up call happens and you start to think that if I don’t do IT now, then when the heck am I gonna get to it. You said you would do it in time, you just didn’t realize that time was not an infinite source. In fact, our lives are but a blink in the scope of humanity and as much as we would like to pause, hold on, step off and just stop time, we can not.

Life teaches us to make good use of time, while time teaches us the Value of Life. You only get so much time so you better make the best of what you were blessed with. No one can predict time and time waits for no one. And, once the time has passed it is gone forever. You can certainly look back and reflect on it but you can not go back and replay times past. The time will pass if you’re ready or not.

So, don’t waste your precious time on all those things that don’t really matter anyway. All things in life are only as important as we choose them to be. Sometimes things seem So Important in the moment only to realize later that it was just another moment in time. Be careful as your time passes, please make sure that what you spend your time on IS what really matters in the end.

Time is not your friend because we only have so much time to spend. Do what you Love to do Today, because tomorrow, You might be out of Time.

I pondered this post for months wondering if I was just rambling, was it worth the time? I saved it to draft and would come back time after time until I decided, this is what I have to say! Time is SOOOO Precious and sometimes we forget to enjoy life trying to make a living.

Take care of your time.

We take care of ours by living a very simple life. We are blessed to be able to live like we want, get up when we want, do what we want and just be who we want to be. It really is a Great Simple Life!
